Dr. Mallory Youngstrom
Atrium Health Navicent Women's Care Urogynecology & Pelvic Surgery has welcomed Dr. Mallory Youngstrom to a team dedicated to caring for women’s gynecological and pelvic health needs.
Dr. Youngstrom is a board certified OB-GYN and specializes in the treatment of pelvic floor conditions. Her clinical interests include treating pelvic organ prolapse (organs moving out of place), urinary and fecal incontinence, genitourinary fistulas (a type of abnormal opening), sexual health and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Her research interests include pelvic floor dysfunction and expanding health care access to underrepresented groups of people.
“I love taking care of women, developing a personalized treatment plan and employing the therapies I offer to improve their daily lives,” Youngstrom said. “Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a patient after surgery or medical treatment with a big smile on her face because she is happy, healthy and thriving.”
From the age of 5, she knew she wanted to become a doctor and take care of women.
Youngstrom received her medical degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She continued her education at Emory University for both her residency and urogynecology fellowship.
She is married with two daughters and two dogs who keep her busy outside of work. An avid painter and knitter, she enjoys wearing her hand-knit sweaters to explore new restaurants and parks with her family.
